Don't Forget Those Who Served

While we are having a barbeque, boating and enjoying our freedoms....please make sure you say a pray for all who have and ever will serve to protect us. Thank YOU to all the service persons who make my life safe. I can never repay your service....but I do personally thank each and every one of you I pass. God Bless You!!!

Just Ramblin'

Well, another night of not sleeping all night....it is currently 5:00 a.m. and I have been up for an hour. I decided to go ahead and condition my hair since I have so much time on my hands.

We were going to go camping this week, but found out that we have a leak under a bedroom window in the camper and has made a moldy weak spot in the floor. My allergies are too severe to try to stay cooped up in a camper for several days. Sooooo, we are going to just flitter back and forth visiting the family out there.

Summer is in full swing around here.....camps are just around the corner. Regan is very excited to get to go to a church camp where she will get to do a ropes course.

I had the funniest email yesterday.....I don't know if I was just in the mood for it or not...but it sure made me laugh til I cried. For some reason, nobody else seems to get the same effect......

I was walking past the mental hospital the other day, and all the patients were shouting, "13...13....13...13."The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the planks and looked through to see what was going on.Someone poked me in the eye with a stick. Then they all started shouting. "14...14...14...14....".

Ok, was it funny? I thought it was hilarious! Don't you ever feel like your couriosity gets the best of you at times? We go poking our nose in other people's business when we were so much better to leave it alone. Just like the Bible says, "Stop worrying about the speck in your neighbor's eye when you have a plank in your own eye." Sheesh, sometimes we just gotta go and get a plank stuck in our eye just because we couldn't leave well enough alone.
Time to go wash out the conditioner....I hope you have a plank-free day!!

Our Firstborn has Graduated!

Our dearest Carly has completed her high school requirements and officially graduated on May 10, 2008. While we were celebrating her accomplishments, unfortunately others were suffering devastating tornadoes. Our prayers are with the families impacted by those tornadoes in Oklahoma and Missouri. We love you Carly and ask God to bless your future and to always be a presence in your life.

Flooding

This is what it looks like on the road to our house....we live about 2 miles from this flooding. We live near a grain elevator. That poor little car is stuck there for awhile. My friend who works at the elevator said that the workers put a flat bottom boat at the corner so they would be able to "boat" to work tomorrow.....she said, "If I can't drive my truck to work, I'm not coming in!" I'm sure that come July, we'll be wishing we had some water.....but right now, we've had enough!

I Could Have Invented This

Ok, congestion has set in.....and this picture is actually what I could wear! I am using the sinus flush....it isn't as bad as it sounds. I get one child well and then I get something.....is this going to be our life now? I know it could be much worse and I'm thanking God for the blessing. Carly's strep is now much better...thank you to those who prayed for her.

Altered White Board

I altered our white board so we can hang it in the dining room and use it for school purposes if needed. It only took some neat scrapbook paper and modge podge. I set the board on a 5 gallon bucket on the counter while working on it so it wouldn't stick to anything. My family had better watch out because I'm on the prowl for something else to alter.....hmmmm, I wonder if I can do my teens' attitudes......evil laugh.......

Quick Update

I'm posting a quick update. For those that know us well, know that we are up to our necks in stockshows. Let's see, we've finished our local show and are finishing up our regional show and getting ready to head off to our state show. My house looks like a disaster area and I haven't cooked a meal in over a week! The good news is that I know it will still be here when we are finished and I can tackle the mess. I have been using my Little Roomba like crazy to keep down on the dust on the floor. I just have to remember to shut doors or he dies before he can finish an area.

We did quite well at the local show. Carly had reserve grand heifer and steer and both were in the premium sale. Sydni had grand champion heifer and finally gets to put her name on the trophy. Regan had grand and reserve champion goat.

Also, Carly got outstanding senior! She was so worried that they wouldn't give it to a 4-H member since it is a memorial award for an FFA member. It really meant a lot to her as she remembers Crystal Hughes well and she impacted Carly's life in her short time on earth.

My parents were given a special recognition award for all their years of supporting the stockshow. Mom and Paul, if you reading this, I can't express in words how much your support, time and money have blessed our family. I love you!

Carly and Regan have made the sale at the regional. I was really worried that Carly wouldn't make it this year.....she has been blessed by making the regional sale every year she has been in the show. We are hoping that she can finally make it at the state level this year.....keep praying...this is her last chance.

Ok, I've rambled when I should be cleaning and getting the local show stuff wrapped up.....have a blessed day and Don't FORGET to SPRING FORWARD tonight so you won't be late to church tomorrow!!!
