I have a beautiful view from my patio....
There are gorgeous sunsets each evening....
Sometimes the sunsets are very HOT!
I decided I wanted curtains on my patio.
It would be too expensive to buy pretty rods...I would need 4 of them.
Husband REFUSED to drill into the bricks....so, the brain gears started turning.
Then I found conduit pipe....and hooks...and rubber end caps....
I LOVE THIS SHEET AND WISH I COULD FIND MORE JUST LIKE IT...at the right price!
You can get the hanging things at Wal-Mart in the curtain rod section. You do not have to sew to hang these...they just clamp on.
TOTAL COST OF PROJECT = Less than $50.00
The most expensive items were the hangy things....$20.00.
This is only one curtain....I will have FOUR.

They look just beautiful - love the fabric. I've never heard of curtains on a patio before, but love how you've done it!
Traci if you'd read my june 30th post you would not have had to think outside the box! :)
I've thought about hanging curtains too, but I have to ask, Do you leave them up all the time? What about when it rains? Do you have mildew problems, etc?
just wondering if they are more trouble than I would like to give to them.
That is a fantastic idea. Way to think outside the box!
Looks great! I just hung some drop cloths for curtains on my porch too. I ended up using coated heavy weight picture hanging wire, a tightener thingy and cup hooks, worked beautifully and very very cheap. Love the vintage sheets, brilliant idea!
I did something like this in my craft room to hide the big ugly shelves full of tubs since I had lots of yardage of fabrics from my stash. Hubbs screwed in some metal thingy to hold the pipe in place. Where did you get the rubber end caps to avoid drilling into the brick? Im thinking this might be a good idea for our west facing deck too! thanks!
Love it! Great fabric!!
