What We Do on the 6th Day of VBS....

WE SWIM!!!
These are just some random shots of our evening at the pool.
I sure wish I could have found an old timey bathing suit for my character to wear...but I did not....so, no costume to show you, my fans...so sorry.

Her shirt says, "firecracker"...sooooo cute!!!

Ok, most would think these are twins....NOPE.
They didn't even know each other before this picture.
One is Lucas and the other is Nicholas...even the names are close.
One was born on October 19th and the other October 26th...OF THE SAME YEAR!
I guess we REALLY DO have a twin somewhere in the world...and these two just found theirs!

Our Life Guard...Leslie!

Future model....and has the height to go with the looks.

Cheesin' for the camera!

If only these ladies knew how many pictures I took just to get this one w/ them ALL looking....sheesh.

I think this is an amazing pic...look how the water looks like ICE.
I also love the fact that you can tell how much work it took to slap that water....just look at his tongue.....

Day 5 of Camp E.D.G.E

I know you have just been chomping at the bit to see what I came up with for the last day of Camp E.D.G.E., weren't you?
This is my "pretty" outfit.
Several girls wanted me to be "pretty".
So, this was my attempt...and boy was it successful!
The little girls LOVED my black dress w/ pink polka dots!

I felt like "The Church Lady" on an Andy Griffith episode.
Note: THE SHOES!!
This is the NORMAL me in a pretty dress looking like "The CRAZY Church Lady".

I know you have been just waiting and waiting for the XTREME SPORT for the final day of Camp E.D.G.E.
Well, it was XTREME IRONING!
Believe it or not, it is an actual event.
If you don't believe me, just go to YOU TUBE and search it out.
Nutty Buddy didn't do too well on ironing his shirt though, so he couldn't dress up w/ Imogene Marciella Funn (aka I.M. Fun). He managed to burn a huge hole in the back of the shirt.
Yes! We warned the kids to NEVER try this without ADULT supervision!
This is my nutty daughter, Sydni.
She turned 17 on the last day of VBS.
I got her the shirt so she could wear it like it was a fan shirt of our
camp mascot, Nutty Buddy. Not bad for $3.00 at Wal-Mart.
This is a prop.
I drew this prop about 5+ years ago...and can't even remember what it was for.
It was re-purposed for Camp E.D.G.E.
I think I might just add this picture for my profile pic, what do you think?

We Called This HUMP DAY at VBS

We managed to make it through Day 4 of Camp E.D.G.E.
For some reason, Day 4 seems to be the ONE day where we are "sluggish".
So, I used that excuse to wear my jammies!!!
I told the kids that I was just sooooo tired from 3 very exciting and very tiring days of VBS that I overslept!
Since I overslept, I missed my "beauty" appointment.
I didn't even have time to get dressed before VBS started.
(You didn't realize how itty bitty that tent was til you saw me coming out of it, did you?)
Yes, people, I did go out into public looking like this....I even had to enter our Wal-Mart looking like a complete dork.
My shirt says, "Most of the people who drive me NUTS, are in my family".
I thought that was appropriate since my side kick was a a squirrel.
The pants are Dr. Pepper pants....I'm a Pepper don't you know?
Nutty Buddy's Xtreme Sport today is......
the very mushy, very sticky....MARSHMALLOW WALKING.
NO, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME!
Nutty Buddy didn't even wash his nasty feet before doing this stunt....
he had been in the park all day w/ a lot of pigeon poop on his feet.
...as he walked across the terrified marshmallows...they (the marshmallows)
WHIMPERED and CRIED OUT IN AGONY!!!
Are you wondering what this had to do w/ the days lesson?
SO DID WE!
Well, Nutty Buddy actually took some of the now very dirty marshmallows...
put them on a stick,
roasted them,
and......
ATE THEM on a S'MORE!!!
OH YES HE DID.....THE KIDS LOVED IT!!!

Here are 2 of our soldiers holding a FREEDOM BOX.
Meet Laura and David...they are in the Air Force.
Thank you Laura and David for all you do for our freedoms!!

Oh, and I must NOT forget that my middle daughter has her birthday each year during VBS. She is 17!!! Is that possible when I am only 28?
Happy Birthday Sydni!!! (This picture is NOT of her birthday outfit...you'll get to see that soon...and YES, she WILL have on clothes) This was my DAY 2 outfit!

Surviving Camp E.D.G.E.

Well, we are beyond the halfway point of VBS.
I must say that we are holding up quite well for a bunch of
really old people....
I was thinking about taking you on a little trip down Camp E.D.G.E lane.....IN A KAYAK.
Easier said than done......

Here is Nutty Buddy as a ROCK STAR!
Due to the economy, Camp E.D.G.E. had to make some cutbacks on their
Xtreme Sporting events....but that isn't going to get Nutty Buddy down...no sirrrreeee.
Instead of ROCK CLIMBING, he did the very, very dangerous
Xtreme Sport of......
POP ROCK EATING AND DRINK A COKE!!!
If you've kept up with URBAN LEGENDS, you would know that if one eats POP ROCKS and DRINKS A SODA.....HE WILL EXPLODE!
Well, let me just say....Nutty Buddy didn't explode...but the AUDIENCE did....
IN LAUGHTER when Nutty Buddy let out the
biggest, hugest, BURP! Did I mention that it was into the
MICROPHONE as well?

Here is Nutty Buddy in his "FIRE JUGGLING" outfit!

Well, as you can see, the kayak is a very popular attraction....or quite possibly,
it was because I.M. Fun was in the kayak.....what kind of look is the little one giving me?

We've had 100 degree weather and what better way to cool off than to have your dad bust a water balloon on your head!
Camp E.D.G.E. is an evening camp so the whole family can attend.

I think I'm up a creek without a paddle here!
Each year at VBS, we have a mission project.
This year, we are honoring our military...past and present.
Campers are bringing items for the Blue Star Mothers Box Program.
The boxes are filling up with items like shampoo, gum, kool-aid, wipes, germ-x, etc.
This wall is the family of campers who are or were in the military.

Going to be a little busy this week.....

Our Vactions Bible School is this week!
We are at "Camp E.D.G.E."
"Experience & Discover God Everywhere"
I know I RARELY post a picture of myself because I am
usually the one behind the camera....
yet, let me dress up like a total moron and
EVERYONE wants to make sure they get pictures of me.
I had to get these off Facebook...hello...

I swear I am just drunk on the Holy Spirit here!!! (I'll do anything to spread God's Love)
My character is Imogene Marciella Fun....for short, it is I. M. Fun!
I am the Camp E.D.G.E "Director".
The pastor and I do an opening skit each night to introduce the Xtreme Theme
for the night. So far, we've had Xtreme Kayak Paddle Twirling, and Xtreme Fire Juggling...which
is done just by using the "lighters" that you light a candle w/....you know what I am talking about....he has TWO of them and the flame can be "thrown" and "caught" to each lighter.
We even did the Harlem Globetrotter stunt of throwing the bucket of water on him to put out his "burning" tail!
The preacher, Shannon, has only been with our church for barely a month!
He is a hoot....their family is a true blessing.
His character is "Nutty Buddy" the squirrel.

This is a prop for our camp.
The lovely lady on the right is the REAL VBS Director....I just play one.
Amy has done an amazing job putting this whole thing together.
Stay tuned for more updates as the week progresses!

Does the Cowboy go with the Purse?

This is my manly man, DAVID, who is so secure in his masculinity that he is willing to stand in front of millions, er, uh, hundreds, holding his daughter's purse! Isn't he a sweety? The guy on the left, is DOUG, and he is a cowboy also....just not at VBS....thought he might get too hot...ba haaaa. If I were to bet, I'd say they were discussing animals....
Did I mention that we will be married for 21 years this FRIDAY? I've been with him for more than 1/2 my life.....WOW!

VBS FINALE

Well, like I said before, we had the VBS canned food drive and the winning team got to choose which staff member would get the infamous "pie in the face". Well, you are looking at the "winner/loser", Drew, our worship ministry leader. Drew had no idea that he really wasn't going to get a pie in the face.....Jesus stepped in and SACRIFICED himself for Drew. It was really sad to see the mob mentality take over.....they were chanting...Drew, Drew, Drew. There were even disappointed people when they found out that Drew wasn't going to get the pie! If someone said that they didn't think that Jesus should have gotten the pie....I would just say, "So, you are saying that Jesus shouldn't have died for YOU?" Then they give the AHAH look......and walk away.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL DAY 1

I must start with this precious little angel....doesn't that make make all the hard work of VBS worth it?

We begin each evening with a light meal. Many hours go into decorating for VBS. This year's theme is BEACH PARTY....surfin' through the scriptures.

This is REGISTRATION....the first night is usually LIGHT....

Our mission this week is donating to the local food pantry. That is ME in the soup can and my friend, Amy is the NOODLE...ba haaaa. We are the VISUAL reminder to bring canned goods.

This is Shyloe, our children's director. She is "Gideon"....what a great actress she is.....any scouts out there need to see her in action.

This is what the adults do when they THINK nobody is looking....but leave it to TRACI to always have the camera....tee hee. Really, they are waiting for RECREATION to get started....we have to do the ROLL CALL before we begin.

SEE NO EVIL - HEAR NO EVIL - SPEAK NO EVIL

Then we move to have Bible study.....learning about Gideon.

Now, we are on to craft time......PEACE OUT!!!
