What Does One Do When the Temperature Reaches 70 Degrees in December?

You grab a pretty girl and take her Sr. portraits.....

I am soooo glad this girl is easier to take pictures of because
her parents are the ones I told you about before....
They are quite possibly the world's hardest couple
to get a good picture.
Allison's dad is they handy-fix-it-kinda guy
who put the spoons on my kitchen cabinets.
He also helped my hubby wubby with the cabinets
in my office/studio makeover.

MY Sugar Cookie Recipe....for My FLYFRIENDS.....

Traci's Sugar Cookie Recipe

1 c. sugar
2 3/4 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening (butter flavor if you like)

Mix ingredients together in a large bowl.  Refrigerate for an hour or more for better results.
Roll out to desired thickness....I like mine THICK.
(The above picture is not using my recipe, so they didn't come out as thick as I like)
Use cutie patootie cookie cutters.
Bake at 350 degrees until LIGHT brown...if you wait until they are brown...
you will NOT LIKE THEM.
Remove to a cooling rack.
I use a powder sugar icing w/ a tiny bit of lemon juice.

ENJOY!!!

I Can Finally Show Off Our 2010 Christmas Tree!!!

I had a hard time putting up decorations this year for some odd reason.
Typically, we put them up the first Sunday of Advent.
Here it is, December 18, 2010 and I finally got it done!
I started to put on the ornaments 2 days ago, but
got a lovely migraine and had to stop.
Getting a migraine while doing a particular "something" is
along the same lines of eating something and then
puking your guts out.....you tend to avoid the food
you were eating because you associate it with
PUKING.
I was hanging ornaments; got a migraine....so, the
only natural thing to do is stay far far away from
the ornaments!
Believe me, it was scary to pick up the first ornament after
having the migraine....I just waited for the flash
of lightning to blazing across my eyes......
ALAS!  It did NOT appear....so, I got it FINISHED!!!
Merry Christmas friends and please, if you don't already know........
GOD LOVES YOU AND THERE'S NOT A THING
YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!
Isn't that the
most beautiful feeling in the world???

A VERY Big Family Photo Shoot.....WHEW!

Sooooo, I've never ever done this large of a family before....
Do you know how HARD it is to get a picture
when all of the subjects are actually LOOKING where
they are supposed to look?

Then add to that, very cold blustery wind....
A LOT of wind!

Then four children who love to FREAK out when
they see their parents KISS.  GASP!!!

This is a family who is very used to the typical "posed"
pictures....
It too me a bit to get them to relax and ENJOY....
I'm sure the dad has plenty of people that won't believe
he actually JUMPED in a portrait!

Despite the wind and chilly weather....we managed
to squeak out some purty dadgum good pictures.

These pictures were taken with their cows....yep, the
cows were easier to get to cooperate than the family...hee hee.

If they had anymore kids, I would have had to pull
out the panoramic lens...which I do NOT have.
Seriously, four children is not bad....but when
it is the biggest family I've ever done....I have to
continue to have fun with the fact....THAT
THIS IS THE LARGEST FAMILY I'VE EVER DONE!

Because this mom is my very good friend, I can goof like this on
the blog....NEVER would I talk like this when I didn't
know the family!  (LOOKING SHEEPISH)
Thanks guys for sharing your family with me!
I can't imagine how many pictures I would have had if it
weren't for the wind and cold..... :)

Go Green! Be a Tree Hugger!

Yep!  It is that time of year again...the annual Christmas Parade!
For the 6th year, my sister, Terri, and I dressed
as characters....I know, I know, we are ALREADY characters...
who needs to DRESS as characters.
We've heard it all before so SAVE YOUR BREATH!

Terri started off the very early morning by foaming!
Let's go down our list of the different characters we've been...
1.  Mr. & Mrs. Incredible (YES! We wore SPANDEX)
2.  Big Bird & Cookie Monster (We do NOT like wearing the big heads)
3.  Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum (We were often mistaken for the 3 pigs for some reason)
4.  Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum (We here hoping the kids would remember us, they did not.)
5.  Santa's Elves (This was by far our favorite, we were easily recognized...DUH!)
6.  Christmas Trees.  (Even the schools had our pictures all over the place!)

We discovered a slight costume malfunction....
Hair!  What do we do with the HAIR?

We are ready to go......
Uh oh....something ain't right with that lion back there behind us.
I SWEAR WE DIDN'T DO IT!!!

This is the largest group EVER!
See how Terri and I planted ourselves right there in the FRONT?

We had some new characters this year....pretty sure that is Fred or Barney's foot.
Terri and I were supposed to the some presents as shoes....
complete failure of the costume designer....NO CAN DO.
Our organizer, Janie, found us some silver shoes to go with our silver
garland....she does amazing things like that!

We must start with the PRESIDENT of our fan club, Chelle (Shelly).
She was elected as the president AGAIN.  We won't mention
that she is our ONLY fan.
Chelle is the GREENEST person I know!
No, seriously....her maiden name was GREEN.
This girl carries her own dishes with her if she thinks she is going somewhere
that there is Styrofoam in use.
She uses a LIVE tree every year and plants it after Christmas.
She recycles EVERYTHING!
She is AMAZING!
She is the FIRST OFFICIAL TREE HUGGER OF THE DAY!

My hair is holding up quite well.....just had to show you.

Here is Cooper, he is a tree hugger!

Terri and I take time out to pose with one of our cousin.
This cousin didn't smile because she is jealous that we are
MOBILE trees and she has to stay put at this daycare.
We tried to make her feel better by telling her
how much prettier she is with all her bling.
I don't think she bought our sincere lies truth.

Here we are AFTER all the madness of the day traveling to
every school, daycare, and nursing home.
We take time out for some spaghetti at the annual
Catholic Church Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction.

Before we head out to parade around some more.
We pause to take a picture with our beautiful MOTHER.
Mom is soooo proud of her trees.
They are the shiniest brightest "STARS".

Even the clowns are tree huggers.....he loved me so much, he
let me drive his HOT ROD!
Show the trees some LOVE!!!

Senator Kim David is a TREE HUGGER!

Terri tried to make the Highway Patrolman a tree hugger.....

He just wanted to be a tree CUFFER.....
Her bail was set at PRICELESS.....
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR SISTER!

The county became a tree hugger!

They also became a tree HAULER.....

The football coach, Moose (AKA my brother-in-law) became
a tree hugger!
By the way, our football team is heading to the state championship
on SATURDAY....GO DAWGS!

The Mayor became a tree hugger......

Our local news anchor, Craig Day, became a tree hugger!

High school senior, CW, and family became TREE HUGGERS!

Dana, mom of one of my XS Group girls became a
TREE HUGGER!

It took some work, but I finally got my dear husband, David
to become a TREE LOVER!!!
Oh yes, he has stepped over the hugging and and truly
LOVES ME!!!
