Easy Homemade Lemonade!

Old Fashioned Lemonade

1 1/2 cups lemon juice

1 1/2 - 3/4 sugar

8 cups water

Mix sugar w/ one cup of boiling water (I just use VERY HOT water from my tap, or nuke it). Mix rest of ingredients together and stir. If you are too tired to juice real lemons, you can cheat and use the store bought juice. I also slice a lemon and add the wedges to the pitcher. Be VERY CAREFUL if you are using a glass pitcher...it will crack of lemonade is HOT. That is why I use HOT TAP water for the one cup and cold water for the remaining 7 cups. Serve with crushed ice then go sit out on the porch and tell me that doesn't make all your worries go away!!

I will be doing something else with my lemonade and I hope to show you in the next few days!! NO, it isn't trying it w/ Jack Daniels either!!!

I'd need a gallon to set on the porch in this heat! :)

okay I used to go to this little cafe that made fresh squeezed lemonade by the glass, expensive it was too!

They made a batch of sugar water and kept it cold in the fridge, and squeezed a lemon into a glass, topped it with sugar water and ice cubes and voila! no broken glasses either!

We also love homemade lemonade and I sometimes use 1/2 the amount of lemon and add the rest with lime...it's yummy too! I also add smashed up strawberries to make Freckled lemonade...it's ohhh so good!

I have friends from India and we love Indian Lemonade - quite a different taste from ours but so refreshing! All is to taste and can be made by the glass:

In a 12 oz. glass, add ice water until NEARLY full - leave room to stir. Then add 1 Tbsp lemon juice, 3-4 tsp sugar and a little salt - a pinch maybe. Stir together until dissolved...again all measurements are to taste. It is a bit like those sports drinks but without tons of chemicals...one of Kiddo's FAVES! :o) I think I'll go make him some, now!
